Despite having played guitar for more than half my adult life, I’ve never, ever, had a proper lesson. All my learning has been from books, the internet, or from friends and other folk that I jam with. And I’ve done okay with that; but I am pretty sure I’ve developed some dodgy habits along the way and I’m definitely light on theory!
While browsing Hendrix covers on Youtube recently, I stumbled upon a great Little Wing cover by a local guitarist, who also happens to teach. As someone who has recently had a major career change, I’m a firm believer that you’re never too old to learn something... so this coming Thursday I will be taking my first ever “proper” guitar lesson.
Now it may sound daft (probably because it is?), but I’m actually quite nervous about it. Wish me luck!
