Refurbished and upgraded Fender Squier '57 Stratocaster, in Lake Placid Blue with a maple neck. Coming from what may be the most hotly debated Fender product line of all time, this awesome Korean Squier Stratocaster carries an E10 serial number, showing it was assembled in Korea during 1987. This was the first year of Squier production at the Young Chang factory indicating it is among the best Squier guitars to come from that factory. There are myths, legends and maybes about the source of the components used to build these guitars all over the internet, but the general consensus is the bodies are decent, capped affairs, the necks are very good indeed, but the controls and wiring are poor... So, while the original pickups have been retained, this guitar has been upgraded by fitting full size CTS potentiometers, a Fender USA 5 way switch, a switchcraft output jack, Sprague Orange Drop capacitor and a treble bleed modification. The neck is in good playable condition, with some fret wear across the first seven frets. On close inspection the body has minor scratches, a hairlight finish crack near the heel/arm cut, and a paint chip on the heel pocket beneath the neck.
